On 18-20 October 2015, Premier Jay Weatherill and Cabinet Ministers visited the Barossa, Light and Lower North region as part of the Country Cabinet program.

It was the second Country Cabinet meeting of 2015 and provided a chance for locals to attend a public forum, speak directly with ministers in one-on-one meetings, and join an online discussion.

A public forum and barbecue was held at Nuriootpa High School on Sunday 18 October. The event was open to anyone with an interest in the issues that affect the Barossa, Light, Gawler and Mallala council region.

We wanted to hear about people's experience as a member of the Barossa, Light, Gawler and Mallala council region community.

  • What were the unique issues facing the community?
  • What challenges did they come up against?
  • What did they love about living in the Barossa, Light and Lower North region?
  • What suggestions did they have to make the region a better place for all of the community?

The comments inform a document that details all of the ideas, issues and suggestions that are collated as a part of Country Cabinet, which is then provided to the SA Government to respond to. The Government's response to this document will be posted here on YourSAy within 90 days of Country Cabinet.
