The Northern Eyre Peninsula Health Alliance (NEPHA) exists to advance the critical health needs of the people of Northern Eyre Peninsula. It is a self-help alliance of the district councils of Cleve, Elliston, Franklin Harbour and Wudinna, and the Streaky Bay and Districts Medical Clinic.
NEPHA seeks an alternative, sustainable, integrated and multi-disciplinary model of healthcare services to the people and communities of the Northern Eyre Peninsula.
Setting the scene
The national healthcare crisis that confronts rural and regional Australia, threatens our wellbeing and the survival of our country towns. Already, our local ratio of GPs to population is less than half that of Greater Adelaide and surrounding regions.
Without intervention, our remaining GPs endure increasingly unsustainable workloads. There is an immediate risk of losing them and that will recruitment nigh impossible.
How can we work together?
Our communities and NEPHA stand ready to work with the Federal Government as it considers and implements our findings and recommendations, including those outlined in our 2021 report.
