Concept Master Plan released

19 February 2019

The Concept Master Plan for reactivating the Repat site is now available.

Dementia services, older persons’ mental health, specialised brain and spinal rehabilitation, care transition and surgical procedures will be offered at the Repat.

A new purpose-built, state-of-the-art brain injury facility will be built to provide a 26 bed specialist inpatient ward and the former rehabilitation wards will be redeveloped  to provide for a new 23 bed state-wide spinal injury ward.

Following on from the Oakden recommendations, an 18 bed specialised facility will care for some of the most vulnerable residents suffering extreme behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). This will form part of a dedicated dementia village, including 60 places of care for people with dementia who have complex care needs.

A ‘town square’ will also be developed to create a cultural hub and open outdoor flexible use space including a new wheelchair training/sports gymnasium, refurbishment of the SPF Hall and a new cafe.

Next steps

The concept plan is available for comment until Monday 25 February.
