Public Consultation Update (2016)

Posted
21 September 2016

More than 60 suggestions to remove and amend out-dated laws, regulations and policies have been received from a public consultation process ahead of a Simplify Day in November to reduce red tape and regulatory burden in South Australia.

South Australian residents, businesses and peak industry bodies submitted a wide range of suggestions focused on removing duplication and streamlining government rules and processes. The Local Government Association have also embraced the opportunity to work collaboratively and have gathered many more suggestions.

The combined feedback spans a range of areas across Government, including transport, roads, business, law and order, environment, planning and licensing.

The public suggestions from industry, business and the community are being considered in conjunction with work undertaken within government departments. We are working through every suggestion and considering what changes can be made ahead of the first Simplify Day on 15 November 2016.

The Simpler Regulation Unit is keen to hear your views and continue to accept public submissions on red tape reduction reforms to consider in future, so I would encourage anyone with suggestions to contact the Unit via simplifyday@sa.gov.au with your ideas.
