A What We Have Heard Report is now available on the SA Planning Portal, which summarises the written responses received by the State Planning Commission on Phase One of the Planning and Design Code (the Code). Phase One of the Code contains planning policy that relates to land not within a council area, ie. the outback and coastal waters of South Australia. The report captures the methods of engagement used during consultation, which ran from 5 February 2019 to 29 March 2019. The report also summarises the number and type of respondents who provided feedback, the key themes of this feedback, and important next steps.

Also available to view and download from the SA Planning Portal is the Planning and Design Code for Land Not Within A Council Area (The Outback Code) Engagement Report. This report was prepared by the State Planning Commission for consideration by the Minister for Planning in adopting the Planning and Design Code for application to land not within a council area – now known as the Outback Code. The Planning and Design Code in the Outback – Version 1 (1 July 2019) is now operational in land not within a council area in South Australia.
