Updates and outcomes
(coming soon)

We want to find out your feedback on last mile and freight access issues, and issues relating to the movement of machinery on public roads, as well as identifying further infrastructure deficiencies such as the need to upgrade junctions, bridges and roads.

What is being decided?

The Improving Road Transport for Primary Production Project 2 builds on the momentum and success of the first 90 Day Project, now known as Project 1 (check out the updates here).

It aims to improve efficiency in South Australia's agricultural transport industry by addressing road transport limitations and restrictions, improve the relevant regulations and decision-making processes and undertake minor capital and infrastructure works.

It is a collaboration between Primary Industries and Regions SA (PIRSA), the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) and Primary Producers SA (PPSA).

How can your input influence the decision?

We want to hear about the issues that need solving to improve road transport for primary production industries. We are looking to improve the productivity of the primary industries sector through more efficient and effective road transport.

Project 1 saw more than 600 survey responses. As a result, 50 projects have been completed and industry has estimated the benefits of the project reforms for primary producers and transport operators to date to be at least $56 million.

Project 2 opens the door for new opportunities for new industry sectors to be involved, such as forestry, dairy, fresh produce, fisheries and aquaculture.

It gives an opportunity to those that missed out the during the first survey to have their say this time around, as well as gather fresh new ideas and enhancements on improving road transport for primary production.

Your input will help to further make efficiencies in the day-to-day work of transport operators in the primary production industries. It not only results in cost savings, but helps to make it safer for drivers and improves animal welfare.
