Help us shape the State Sports Park to transform it into a thriving precinct which encourages a more active and healthy lifestyle.
What’s being decided?
Together, we want to further develop the State Sports Park at Gepps Cross into a multipurpose sports and recreational precinct and provide the community with a world-class facility which can host sports from grassroots through to elite level. The vision is for a Park that is more accessible, welcoming, active with people, greener and better integrated.
Master planning is taking place in two stages. During Stage 1- from September to December 2019 - we developed the overall vision and structure of the Park with key stakeholders, outlined in the draft State Sports Master Plan.
During Stage 2, we are seeking your feedback on the draft Plan, with a particular interest in the following areas:
- State Sports Park vision
- Suggested sports and activities
- Public access (via foot, car, bicycle or public transport)
- Design or environmental features
- Issues and opportunities
We have created an overview tab which summarises the above areas of interest included in the draft State Sports Park Master Plan.
The State Sports Park map tab shows the different precincts as well as the activities proposed for each precinct. A poll has been made available for you to vote on your preferred activity or make any additional suggestions.

How can your input influence the decision?
Your input will help finalise the draft Master Plan which will include vision, access and movement networks, precincts and activities (with infrastructure spatially sited), updated guidelines, development sequencing, partnership opportunities and governance directions.
What are the next steps?
A consultation report and final draft of the Master Plan will be made available for public feedback in June/July 2020.
A Business Case for the full development of the Park will be prepared before the end of 2020 for consideration by Infrastructure South Australia.
