What’s being decided?
We are in the planning and design stage of our Victor Harbor Road Duplication project and we are seeking your views to help inform the development of the preferred design concept.
Traffic volumes and crash history on Victor Harbor Road between Main South Road and Main Road, McLaren Vale has reached a point where duplication of the road to dual carriageway is necessary to alleviate traffic delays and safety issues. This map highlights the scope of works and location of the Victor Harbor Duplication project.
Once complete, it is expected that the upgrade will:
- Improve travel times
- Improve safety
- Accommodate future growth
- Improve economic productivity.
Community and stakeholder engagement is an important part of the planning process for the Victor Harbor Road Duplication project, and we are seeking your input to help inform the development of the project’s planning and design outcomes.

How can your input influence the project?
All feedback will be considered as the project team continues through the design process, to identify a preferred solution that balances the needs of the project’s various stakeholders.
What are the next steps?
Further consultation will occur throughout the planning and design phase, which will conclude in 2020, with major works scheduled to start in 2021/22.
