Australian Red Cross Society
What does this organisation do?
Australian Red Cross has been part of the Australian community for over 100 years, supporting the needs of vulnerable people both locally here in communities like Port Pirie and internationally. We were established by Royal Charter in 1914 as part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the largest humanitarian organisation in the world. Red Cross supports and empowers people and communities in times of vulnerability. Our work is underpinned by our extensive network of volunteers (over 20,000) members and supporters and over 2,000 staff.
People with a disability or chronic health issue
Living with a disability or long term or chronic health issue can severely affect our wellbeing through unemployment or underemployment, social isolation or exclusion and poor mental or physical health.
