What does this organisation do?
Can:Do 4Kids, Townsend House, is South Australia’s oldest charitable service provider, offering vital therapy and support to children and young people who are blind, deaf or have vision, hearing or sensory impairments and their families.
Established in 1874 by William Townsend as a school and accommodation for deaf and blind children, Townsend House has provided family-centred support for over 140 years.
People with a disability or chronic health issue
Living with a disability or long term or chronic health issue can severely affect our wellbeing through unemployment or underemployment, social isolation or exclusion and poor mental or physical health.
Young people disengaged from education and work
We all want the best for our children and young people but the evidence suggests that if young people are not engaged with work or education their future wellbeing is in jeopardy. They are more likely to experience social and economic disadvantage, poorer physical and mental health and be at risk of social exclusion in the short and longer term.
