Reconciliation South Australia
What does this organisation do?
Reconciliation South Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that promotes the people's movement for reconciliation at a state level. Our vision is to increase understanding of the shared history of all South Australians that recognises and enacts the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to live in a just and equitable society.
As a society, we have the power to make an enduring impact on equality and justice. Reconciliation believes in the capacity for every one to make a difference.
Reconciliation SA relies on its Patrons, Ambassadors, staff, students and volunteers to carry out our goals. Reconciliation SA was formed in 2002 and is directed by a board of management.
People who are experiencing discrimination or disadvantage due to personal circumstances
We all expect to be treated with respect and afforded the same opportunity. Yet some people experience disadvantage as a result of discrimination.
Young people disengaged from education and work
We all want the best for our children and young people but the evidence suggests that if young people are not engaged with work or education their future wellbeing is in jeopardy. They are more likely to experience social and economic disadvantage, poorer physical and mental health and be at risk of social exclusion in the short and longer term.
