Saint Hilarion Aged Care
What does this organisation do?
St Hilarion has been assisting for over 60 years the elderly community and is currently exploring the option of providing home cooked meals to the homeless, inclusive of the indigenous community, and financially disadvantaged groups. St Hilarion are wanting to expand their service delivery thereby ensuring that these various groups are supported either by future training, employment opportunities and/ or improving access to quality meals.
People who are newly arrived to Australia
Recent migrants to South Australia can face many challenges as they settle in our communities and establish new lives for themselves and their familles. For example, they may experience unemployment and social isolation, and they may encounter real or percieved discrimination. This can negatively impact their wellbeing.
Low income families and the long term unemployed
Employment is a significant factor in our wellbeing. Employment provides financial independence, improves our physical and mental health, expands our social networks and builds our skills.
On the flip side, long term unemployment or underemployment negatively impacts our wellbeing. It contributes to poor mental and physical health, social isolation and poverty. And it can negatively impact the wellbeing of our children.
