Fund My Community: Application and Social Media Workshop 22 March 2017.
The South Australian Government is holding two back-to-back workshops for prospective applicants from 9:30am on Wednesday 22 March 2017.
The first workshop will focus on the application process and will cover a range of topics, including:
- An overview of FMC
- Learnings from past FMC rounds
- Eligibility criteria
- Navigating the online application form
- Writing your FMC application (with one-on-one help available if you need it)
- Results Based Accountability
The second workshop will focus on using online tools including social media to promote your application.
How does it work?
Fund My Community is an annual program that provides grants for non-government, not-for-profit community groups. The next round will open on Monday 6 February 2017.
Applying for Funding
Applications will be submitted through a short online application form. In addition to you and your organisation’s contact details, the form asks for information about the project such as who it will benefit and how, how it is aligned with this year's theme "Connect, Grow, Build, Belong", how you will measure its impact, an itemised budget and a photo or image that represents the project.
The application form will be available from Monday 6 February 2017 and can be completed over multiple sittings. You'll need to be a registered YourSAy user to access the form so why not join today and sign-up for our newsletter. You'll then receive updates about Fund My Community including when applications open.
Submitted applications will be screened for eligibility by the project team. Eligible applications will go on to be listed on the website for the community to decide which projects get funding. The community will have access to the project information (including budget) provided in your application. Your personal contact details will not be listed, but all other information will be. What can be funded and other FAQs?
In 2017 Fund My Community will focus on the theme ‘Connect, Grow, Build, Belong’, within the broader mandate to improve the lives of disadvantaged, isolated or vulnerable South Australians.
Under the theme ‘Connect, Grow, Build, Belong’, funding is available for projects that encourage participation of disadvantaged, isolated or vulnerable South Australians in their local communities, and that contribute to, or build, foundations for positive change in their lives that can be sustained over the longer term (i.e. beyond the duration of funding).

Promoting your organisation and project
Fund My Community provides an opportunity to increase the public’s awareness of your organisation and its fantastic work. We have a range of resources to assist you with this.
Inserting an image in your email signature block is a good way to promote your project. Use our 'How to' guide (PDF, 160KB) to insert one of the following images in your signature block (or e-newsletter etc).
