Information for community members

Anyone living in South Australia can take part in deciding which projects get funded during the process we call the 'community assessment'.

The community assessment involves South Australians creating and submitting a Plan that outlines which projects they would support with the $1 million available. The community assessment for the 2017 round will open on 18 April 2017.

To create a Plan you need to log-in to your YourSAy account (or create one if you don't already have one), review the projects and select the ones you want to support while making sure that you meet the following guidelines:

  • select at least 1 project of each size (small, medium and large)
  • select projects from at least 4 categories
  • allocate between $700,000 and $1 million
  • submit your Plan before the publicised closing date.

Watch this video for more information about how to create and submit a Plan.

We estimate that compiling and submitting a Plan will take 30 minutes or longer.

If you don't want to spend the time required to create and submit a Plan you can take part by leaving a message of support for a project. To leave a message, you’ll need to log in or register for a YourSAy account, go to the project and write a message in the Comments section. While the project's nominator will appreciate this message, it's important to note that they won't influence the funding outcome. To be involved in the funding decision you need to complete and submit a Plan

Fund My Community is also encouraging people to learn more about the community groups that have applied and the great work they do. You can find out more about individual projects by clicking the relevant links on their project page. If you are really inspired by an organisation or a project, why not join their newsletter, like them on Facebook, contact them to discuss volunteering opportunities or even make a donation. Links for all of these opportunities are on their project pages.
