An Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy for the South Australian government

The Office for Artificial Intelligence (OAI) is currently seeking feedback from a wide range of people, including the general public, businesses, and universities to inform the development of its inaugural artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, to be launched later this year.

Background
Backed by the commitment and vision that saw the nation's first Office for AI established in SA, this consultation invites input from residents, businesses, industry and academia to help shape how AI will streamline government services and drive better outcomes for the community.

The discussion paper, released by the Office for AI, sets out a bold vision for a smarter, more efficient and more accessible public sector that is underpinned by responsible implementation of AI.

The consultation process will help set the priorities for key focus areas, including:

  • Improving customer service by delivering more user-friendly, personalised government services, available whenever South Australians need them
  • Freeing-up staff for work that requires human skills and empathy by automating repetitive tasks to boost efficiency
  • Using AI to inform smarter decisions and improve outcomes for health, education, policing, social services and more
  • Ensuring robust safeguards for privacy, ethics and accountability at every step.

Get involved
Input from the public, industry, and experts will play a crucial role in co-designing a strategy that reflects the needs and values of the whole community.

Your feedback and insights will be used to help us develop a meaningful artificial intelligence strategy for the South Australian government. A summary of the consultation process will be published on the OAI's website (www.ai.sa.gov.au)

The final strategy will be released later this year and will be available on this page.
