Consultation update

Thank you for your interest and participation in the Animal Welfare Act 1985 review.

We reviewed the submissions received, following the consultation. We have summarised your feedback in a Community Consultation Report.

The Department for Environment and Water has considered the community and stakeholder feedback and is now developing opportunities for reform. Options will be presented to the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water for consideration.

We are considering further opportunity for stakeholder and community consultation on proposed amendments to the Act.
