What is this consultation about?

CALHN has developed a draft set of actions for its next Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026 - 2030. We’re now asking for feedback on these actions to make sure they reflect the real experiences and priorities of people with disability, their families, carers and the wider community.

    Why are these actions important?

The actions guide how CALHN improves access, communication, inclusion and the overall experience for people with disability across our hospitals, services and workforce. Your feedback helps us make sure the actions are clear, practical and focused on the areas that matter most.

    Who can take part?

Anyone can contribute. We especially encourage people with disability, families, carers, disability organisations, advocates and CALHN staff to share their thoughts.

What are we asking you to comment on?

We’re looking for feedback on the draft actions — for example:

    • Are they meaningful and realistic?
    • Will they improve access and inclusion?
    • Is anything unclear or missing?
    • Do they reflect the barriers and experiences you see or face?

You’re welcome to comment on a single action or the whole set.

How will my feedback be used?

All feedback will be reviewed and used to refine the final DAIP before it is released.

    Is the consultation accessible?

We aim to make participation accessible; we have included a version of our DAIP in easy read format. If you need information in a different format or require assistance, please get in touch and we’ll work with you to support your involvement

When will the final DAIP be released?

After the consultation period, we’ll finalise the actions and publish the new DAIP in February 2026.

How can I stay up to date?

Updates will be posted on the CALHN website. Disability Access and… | Central Adelaide Local Health Network
