What is being decided?

We want to hear from people with disability about where Changing Places toilets should be built in South Australia.

Changing Places toilets include a range of features not available in standard accessible toilets, such as height-adjustable adult-sized change table, a tracking hoist system, non-slip flooring and increased space to accommodate a person in a wheelchair and up to two carers.

What is being decided?

We want to hear from people with disability about where Changing Places toilets should be built in South Australia.

Changing Places toilets include a range of features not available in standard accessible toilets, such as height-adjustable adult-sized change table, a tracking hoist system, non-slip flooring and increased space to accommodate a person in a wheelchair and up to two carers.

The South Australian Government is committed to improving access and inclusion. There is widespread recognition that Changing Places is an example of best practice and can enable people with disability to participate in society with more independence and dignity. The 2017-18 State Budget announced $200,000 to fund partnerships to build five Changing Places toilets and we need your input to tell us where they are most needed.

How can your input influence the decision?

Your feedback will help the Department for Communities and Social Inclusion (DCSI) to liaise with Local Government and communities in the locations that you tell us most need a Changing Places toilet.
