The Children and Young People (Safety) Bill 2017 was introduced to Parliament

The Children and Young People (Safety) Bill 2017 was introduced to Parliament on 14 February 2017, following community consultation in December 2016 and January 2017.

Amendments

On Tuesday 28 March 2017 the government filed amendments to the Bill, in response to further consultation with the child protection sector. The amendments will help clarify and expand on measures within the Bill, ensuring the legislation provides robust protection for the state’s most vulnerable children and young people.
