Thank you to all those who provided feedback on the proposed changes to the South Australian Transplantation and Anatomy Act 1983 aimed at giving legal clarity to families who wish to share their donor stories about their deceased loved ones, particularly for the purposes of remembrance, commemoration or awareness raising. The proposed changes relating to the disclosure of information as well as minor updates to modernise the legislation, were supported, and have now been passed by the Parliament of South Australia. The Transplantation and Anatomy (Disclosure of Information and Delegation) Amendment Act 2024 has now come into operation on 6 February 2025.
