Thanks for sharing your views on the Summary Framework for the State Public Health Plan 2019-2024. We are now inviting you to have your say on the draft State Public Health Plan 2019-2024 which we have developed using your previous feedback.

What is being decided?

We are seeking feedback on the draft State Public Health Plan 2019-2024.

Following extensive consultation on the Summary Framework earlier this year, the draft Plan has been developed, building on the achievements of the inaugural Plan and including the latest information about current priorities.

The purpose of the Plan is to guide coordinated action over the next five years to improve the health and wellbeing of all South Australians.

Get involved

Your input has already shaped the development of the draft Plan. Further input will help to finalise the Plan, which will set the direction for public health and wellbeing in South Australia over the next five years.

You can take part by:

  • Joining the online discussion
  • Completing the online survey
  • Emailing your feedback to publichealthact@sa.gov.au
  • Calling us on 8226 6171

How will your input be used to influence the decision?

It is essential that the State Public Health Plan 2019-2024 is developed in consultation with a range of public health partners such as State Government, Local Government, non-government agencies, research institutes and universities, businesses and the community.

The feedback from this consultation process will be used to make final changes to the State Public Health Plan 2019-2024, before it is released in late 2018.

Closing date 5pm Friday 5 October 2018.

Background

Section 50 of the South Australian Public Health Act 2011 prescribes that the Minister must prepare and maintain a State Public Health Plan and that the Minister must review the Plan at least once in every five years.

The review of the 2013 State Public Health Plan, which occurred from October 2017 to February 2018, provided an opportunity to engage with a range of stakeholders to consider changes and achievements that have occurred over the past five years and plan for the future. The findings from the review can be found here.

The recommendations from the review were then considered in the development of the Summary Framework for the draft State Public Health Plan 2019-2024.

Consultation on the Summary Framework occurred between April and June 2018. Feedback from consultation on the Summary Framework has been incorporated into the development of the draft Plan. The diagram below shows the process undertaken to date.

We are seeking your feedback on the draft Plan before it is released in late 2018.
