We are seeking your input on the development of regulations to support the Veterinary Services Act 2023, which will establish a contemporary framework for veterinary regulation and registration in South Australia<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>To support the commencement of the <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=/c/a/veterinary%20services%20act%202023">Veterinary Services Act 2023</a> , regulations need to be drafted. The Department of Primary Industries and Regions (PIRSA) is in the process of developing the regulations and is seeking your input. <div id="_com_1" language="JavaScript"> </div><h2>Background</h2>Veterinarians play a key role in animal, human and community wellbeing by maintaining the health and wellbeing of our pets and our livestock.In 2020, PIRSA began a review of the <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=/c/a/veterinary%20practice%20act%202003">Veterinary Practice Act 2003</a> to ensure that South Australia maintains a contemporary and flexible veterinary regulation and registration framework that continues to meet the objectives of protecting animal health, safety and welfare, and the public interest (including users and providers of veterinary services).Consultation was undertaken during 2020 and 2021, and following consideration of stakeholder feedback, a draft Bill was prepared. It provides governments, businesses, industry and not-for-profit organisations with the data and direction to better plan for and respond to growth and change in our community and towns, while achieving our conservation goals.The Plan identifies land and long-term infrastructure needs to support sustainable growth within the region. Share your feedback on the Department for Child Protection&rsquo;s proposed Quality of Care Response Model.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The Department for Child Protection (DCP) works to keep children and young people safe from abuse and harm and provide alternative care when living at home is no longer an option. Sometimes, concerns are raised about a child or young person in care&rsquo;s safety within their placement &ndash; this report type is currently called a care concern. DCP has been working to reform how it manages care concerns. A new <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/99334/widgets/459623/documents/305334">proposed Quality of Care Response Model </a>has been designed and DCP is seeking your feedback.<h2>Background</h2>DCP has been undertaking work to reform the process by which care concerns are managed since 2022. This has included changes to all core aspects of care concern management such as:<ul><li>screening &ndash; how do we process and triage information?</li><li>determination &ndash; how do we define urgency and risk?</li><li>response &ndash; how best do we respond to the information?</li><li>review &ndash; how do we maintain rigor throughout the process?</li></ul>The approach to the design of a new care concern management model included a period of seeking initial feedback and input from stakeholder groups to guide the creation of the 4 main concepts proposed to underpin the new model.This process took place throughout 2023 and involved consultation with stakeholders including:<ul><li>Oversight bodies;</li><li>Peak bodies;</li><li>Service providers;</li><li>Aboriginal stakeholders;</li><li>Family-based carers;</li><li>Residential care youth workers;</li><li>DCP service delivery staff;</li><li>DCP corporate and operational staff; and</li><li>Government partners.</li></ul>Over 100 stakeholders both internal and external to DCP were consulted throughout this process and participants drew on their experience in and with the child protection system, to provide expert advice and feedback.Following this period of early consultation, the drafted model underwent a period of design and development which was informed by the compiled feedback.In 2024, the draft model was circulated during a series of proof-of-concept testing sessions which were held with stakeholders both internal and external to DCP. Share your feedback on the Department of Human Services Suicide Prevention Action Plan 2025-2028.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The Department of Human Services (DHS) is developing its first Suicide Prevention Action Plan.We invite you to have your say to ensure our Suicide Prevention Action Plan will allow DHS to support wellbeing and help reduce suicide risk for our staff and people we engage with, especially people who access our services. <h2>Background</h2>The <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/__legislation/lz/c/a/suicide%20prevention%20act%202021/current/2021.51.auth.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Suicide Prevention Act 2021 (SA)</a> requires ten government agencies, including DHS, to develop Suicide Prevention Action Plans that contribute to the goals of the <a href="https://www.wellbeingsa.sa.gov.au/assets/downloads/Suicide-prevention/SA-Suicide-Prevention-Plan-2023-2026.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">South Australian Suicide Prevention Plan 2023-2026</a>.Each agency&#39;s Action Plan needs to focus on people that agency engages with. The DHS Action Plan is focused on our staff and the people who access our services.DHS is responsible for a diverse range of services and government strategies. Many of the services we deliver and fund help people at important times in their lives when they may need extra support and could be at higher risk of experiencing distress or thinking about suicide. Some of our work also focuses on supporting population groups that can be more likely to think about suicide. Have your say on the Far North Regional Plan.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The State Planning Commission (the Commission) has released the <a href="https://regional.plan.sa.gov.au/regional-plans/far-north" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Far North Regional Plan</a> (the Plan) and want to hear from community, councils and industry on how we sustainably prepare for future growth.
