Have your say on the Playford Alive East Code Amendment. <h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The draft code amendment seeks to rezone land in Munno Para to enable medium-density residential development as part of the Playford Alive East project. We are engaging with the community to ensure the proposed changes reflect local needs and aspirations.Feedback will help shape the final code amendment and guide decisions on zoning, infrastructure planning, and how the area integrates with the surrounding neighbourhood.<h2>Background</h2>The Playford Alive East Code Amendment supports the delivery of approximately 1,300 new homes in Munno Para over the next eight years. Led by Renewal SA, the project is part of a broader initiative to increase affordable housing supply in Adelaide&rsquo;s northern suburbs. The affected area&mdash;around 7.6 hectares&mdash;is currently zoned Employment but has remained undeveloped. It is located between Curtis Road and the Adelaide-Gawler rail line, adjacent to existing residential areas, schools, public transport, and open space.To enable residential development, the Department for Housing and Urban Development has proposed rezoning the land to Master Planned Neighbourhood. This change will create a consistent planning framework across the Playford Alive East site and support efficient project delivery. The proposal has undergone strategic alignment checks, infrastructure investigations, and preliminary engagement with stakeholders including Renewal SA, the City of Playford, and the Department for Infrastructure and Transport. Input from customers and consumers will help us identify issues and make improvements.<h2>Background</h2>Small-scale retailers are those with 50,000 or fewer connections. <h2>What&#39;s happening?</h2>The Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board (the Board) reviews its Regional Landscape Plan every five years.This plan guides how the Board safeguards Eyre Peninsula&rsquo;s natural and productive environment in partnership with the community.It&rsquo;s now time for the five-year review of the current plan. To guide our next five-year plan, we are seeking community input around what is valued about our EP landscapes and what we should consider in this review.<h2>Background</h2>The priorities in our <a href="https://cdn.environment.sa.gov.au/landscape/docs/ep/EP-landscape-plan-2021.pdf" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">2021-2026 Regional Landscape Plan</a> are pest plants and animals, biodiversity, water, sustainable agriculture and community. Underpinning these priorities is adaptation to climate change.Under the <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=%2FC%2FA%2FLANDSCAPE%20SOUTH%20AUSTRALIA%20ACT%202019" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Landscape South Australia Act 2019</a>, we have statutory requirements for managing declared pest plants and animals, land protection and management, and water planning and management. The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs is seeking the views of Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal parties about the construction of a large wind farm in South Australia&rsquo;s Goyder region.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>Neoen Australia Pty Ltd (Applicant) proposes to construct a large-scale wind farm and battery storage facility known as the Goyder North Wind Farm Project (Project) within <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/102821/widgets/471067/documents/315128" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">an area of land comprising approximately 17,700 ha</a> located north of Burra and east of Mount Bryan in South Australia&rsquo;s Goyder region.The Project would involve ground disturbing works and other supporting works within the application area to enable the construction of up to 99 wind turbines; two battery storage facilities and substations; and an approximately 48 km long overhead transmission line.The views of Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal parties are sought to help the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (Minister) decide whether the Applicant should be given authorisations under the <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=/c/a/aboriginal%20heritage%20act%201988" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988</a> (SA) (Act) in relation to the Project.<h2>Background</h2>The Minister, who is responsible for the Act, has received an application for authorisations under sections 21 and 23 of the Act in relation to the Project. Section 21 of the Act makes it an offence to excavate land for the purpose of uncovering Aboriginal sites, objects and remains (together, heritage) without the Minister&rsquo;s authorisation, while section 23 of the Act makes it an offence to damage, disturb or interfere with Aboriginal heritage without the Minister&rsquo;s authorisation. The changes are focused on protecting more workers from exploitation and ensuring that ethical labour hire providers can operate on an even playing field, while keeping administrative burdens to a minimum.The proposed changes would return industry to largely the same arrangements that were in place when labour hire licensing first commenced in 2018, before 2020 amendments to the law narrowed the scope to just five areas.We are seeking community feedback to help ensure the new legislation changes will protect workers and bolster the integrity of the labour hire sector. <h2>Background</h2>The <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=/c/a/labour%20hire%20licensing%20act%202017">Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017</a> commenced in March 2018, requiring anyone providing labour hire to be licensed. It is significant for representing one of the most recent occurrences of volcanic activity on mainland Australia.The Mount Gambier Thugi / Cave Garden and Civic Centre is a major landmark to the town of Mount Gambier and was declared a State Heritage Area in 2001. The area consists of mid-late 1800s and early 1900s buildings and structures that surround the Cave Garden. The area demonstrates the development of the town and the natural beauty afforded to Mount Gambier. The Mount Gambier Volcanic Complex was declared a State Heritage Area in 1992 as an example of one of two of the youngest volcanic eruption centres in Australia. The Minister for Aboriginal Affairs (Minister) is seeking the views of Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal parties about the proposed redevelopment of the North Adelaide Golf Course, situated in the Adelaide Park Lands and adjacent to the Karrawirra Pari (River Torrens).Consultation has been extended and now closes on Thursday 21 August 2025.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The Department of the Premier and Cabinet (Applicant) seeks to undertake ground-disturbing works to improve and expand the North Adelaide Golf Course, constructing new and expanded public facilities and a championship golf course (Project). The <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/101757/widgets/467057/documents/312142" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">application area</a> is known to contain Aboriginal sites.The views of Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal parties will help the Minister decide whether the Applicant should be given authorisations under the <a href="https://www.legislation.sa.gov.au/lz?path=/c/a/aboriginal%20heritage%20act%201988" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aboriginal Heritage Act 1988</a> (SA) (Act) in relation to the Project.<h2>Background</h2>The Minister, who is responsible for the Act, has received an application for authorisations under sections 21 and 23 of the Act in relation to the Project.Section 21 of the Act makes it an offence to excavate land for the purposes of uncovering Aboriginal sites, objects and remains (together, heritage) without the Minister&rsquo;s authorisation, while section 23 of the Act makes it an offence to damage, disturb or interfere with Aboriginal heritage without the Minister&rsquo;s authorisation.As the Project will involve ground-disturbing works within the <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/101757/widgets/467057/documents/312142" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">application area</a> that may impact, or require excavation of, heritage, the Applicant has sought authorisations under sections 21 and 23 of the Act.Updated heritage information - 30 July 2025The <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/101757/widgets/467057/documents/313926" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Consultation Information Pack has been amended</a> on page 13 to include a summary of a cultural heritage assessment undertaken in 2023 by heritage consultancy firm Neale Draper &amp; Associates, in consultation with Kaurna representatives, over part of the application area. This report has recently become available to AAR. The Plan sets the rules for the sustainable use of prescribed water resources and community feedback is being sought on the proposed content. The Plan was developed using updated science and information about recent levels of consumptive demand, declining trends in water resources, the status of ecosystem health, and cultural and amenity values.<h2>Background</h2>The Barossa Water Allocation Plan is a legal document that provides the regulatory framework for responsible, fair and equitable water allocations for users of surface, watercourse and ground water resources, whilst supporting the health of our landscapes and ecosystems.Work on reviewing and amending the Plan began in 2016 and has been undertaken separately but in parallel with other significant processes including the Barossa Water Security Strategy and the Barossa New Water project. Management approaches in the Plan are based on up-to-date science, monitoring, and modelling information for the current and future availability of water, the impacts of different levels of extraction, and the effects of climate change on local water resources.The Northern and Yorke Landscape Board is seeking the community&rsquo;s feedback as part of statutory consultation in order to finalise the amended Plan. Alert SA provides links and phone numbers to other significant public information sources.Any feedback will help us continually identify opportunities to improve the app.<h2>Background</h2>The enhanced Alert SA application, managed by SAFECOM, was launched on November 21st, 2024. It is the official source of multi-hazard public safety information and warnings for South Australia.The app currently displays incidents, warnings, and other public information from the state&#39;s three emergency services sector agencies: the SA Country Fire Service, SA Metropolitan Fire Service, and SA State Emergency Service. It also displays fire warnings from all neighbouring states and territories of South Australia.This enables the public to access a wide range of information through a single application, thereby reducing the need to consult multiple sources. Help shape the planning rules for future development in the Concordia growth area, near Gawler.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The South Australian Government has identified about 995 hectares of rural land at Concordia, near Gawler, to be rezoned to provide more homes for South Australians.The <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/94547/widgets/439515/documents/311238" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">draft Concordia Code Amendment</a> proposes rezoning about 971 ha to Master Planned Neighbourhood Zone and about 24 ha to Employment Zone. It is anticipated that about 10,000 to 12,000 additional homes could be built in the Concordia growth area over the next 30 years, accommodating about 25-30,000 new residents.A master planned community of this size would include town centres, healthcare, education, major open space, public transport and other infrastructure.Draft changes to the planning rules aim to support a vibrant community with:<ul><li>a new town centre and multiple shopping precincts, each with a main street, providing focal points for residents and visitors</li><li>a variety of housing types and densities, including affordable homes</li><li>areas of open space for recreation that also protect and enhance the environment</li><li>greater tree protections and more plantings</li><li>a new 24 ha employment zone for business, commercial and low-impact, light-industrial activities</li><li>social infrastructure such as education, community services and emergency services.</li></ul>A new &lsquo;Emerging Main Street Subzone&rsquo; is proposed as part of the Code amendment to enable flexibility in how activity centres develop over time, while guiding the development of main streets to create a township character, encouraging pedestrian activity, and focusing housing density around centres to promote walkable neighbourhoods.The Concordia Code Amendment also proposes a new way to reserve land for social infrastructure, such as schools, community facilities, ambulance and fire stations by identifying the key essential facilities, their size and where they could be located on a <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/94547/widgets/439515/documents/310880" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">&lsquo;land use&rsquo; Accelerating SA’s transition to a circular economy: South Australia’s waste strategy 2025–2030

Have your say on proposed engineering requirements for land division, which aim to streamline assessment processes and enable more houses to be built faster across South Australia&rsquo;s growth areas.<h2>What&#39;s being decided?</h2>The <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/100585/widgets/462580/documents/309363" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">draft Design Standard 1 &ndash; Engineering Requirements for Land Division </a>provides technical guidance, building on existing planning rules to deliver more transparent and consistent design standards, construction specifications and infrastructure costs for land divisions. The draft engineering design standard specifies: <ul><li>pavement design </li><li>stormwater design </li><li>road design </li><li>road corridor design </li><li>service infrastructure </li><li>water sensitive urban design </li><li>street landscaping including trees. </li></ul>The draft engineering design standard also provides pathways for considering climate resilient design and a suite of <a href="https://yoursay.sa.gov.au/100585/widgets/462580/documents/309378" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">standard drawings</a> for use in design and construction to significantly reduce assessment timeframes. The draft engineering design standard applies to land division for large residential developments in Master Planned Zones that includes constructing a public road or infrastructure that will become council property.<h2>Background</h2><a href="https://plan.sa.gov.au/our_planning_system/instruments/planning_instruments/design_standards" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Design standards</a> are a new planning instrument that support the Planning and Design Code by promoting good design in our streets, parks and other public places, help manage the interface between public and private realms and contribute to delivering high-quality infrastructure as part of new developments. This engineering design standard is set to be the first design standard adopted under the new South Australian planning system, which was adopted in March 2021. The <a href="https://www.saplanningcommission.sa.gov.au/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">State Planning Commission</a> worked closely with South Australian government agencies, councils and industry to prepare the draft engineering design standard.
