You had your say on our Nature-based Tourism Discussion paper in April, and here’s your chance to make further comments on how we can boost nature-based tourism in South Australia’s national parks, marine parks and reserves.
With a renewed State Government tourism focus and an objective to create 10,000 new jobs by 2020, we're taking this opportunity to engage widely with interest groups and with the community to explore how we can work together on nature-based tourism.
As part of this process we’re developing an Action Plan for South Australia’s national parks, marine parks and reserves to boost nature-based tourism in South Australia. We have already held a series of consultation workshops in May across Adelaide and regionally, and an additional three workshops were held in metropolitan Adelaide at the start of July. This feedback is informing the Nature-based Tourism Action Plan, which will be released for public comment around the end of August.
We’re currently seeking comment from anyone who may not have had the chance to have their say in our previous rounds of consultation. We want to hear from interested groups including environmental and park interest groups, local government and interested community members. To contribute to this process please comment on the questions below. Submissions will close on 31 July, 2015.
This is a joint project of the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources and the South Australian Tourism Commission.
