Is there any known Aboriginal heritage in the Application Areas and how will this be managed?

The Application Area intersects the Karrawirra Pari, a reported Aboriginal site. See the attached map that shows the Application Area in relation to the known heritage.

If granted, the authorisations would allow the Applicant (subject to conditions) to damage, disturb and/or interfere with Aboriginal heritage and to excavate land for the purposes of uncovering Aboriginal heritage.

There is no other recorded or known Aboriginal heritage within the Application Area, although, there is a potential for subsurface Aboriginal heritage to be discovered during ground-disturbing Project works.

The Applicant has developed a draft Cultural Heritage Management Plan with Kaurna representatives through Kaurna Yerta Aboriginal Corporation (KYAC) to help manage any potential heritage discoveries and impacts throughout the Project having regard to the cultural sensitivities of the area.

Please refer to the Consultation Information Pack and Consultation Notice for further information about Aboriginal heritage and the Applicant’s proposed Aboriginal heritage management.

How can I get involved in the Project?

Will I be notified of the decision?
