News update: February 2026
New laws commenced 29 January 2026 requiring all labour hire providers to become licensed in South Australia - subject to a 6-month transition period.
State Government amendments to the Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017 mean all labour hire providers - except those in industries that required licensing in the lead up to 29 January 2026 – must be licensed by 29 July 2026.
Consumer and Business Services suggests operators allow 6 weeks to become licensed, with more information for labour hire providers, users and workers available on sa.gov.au.
