What's being decided?

We want to hear your thoughts on the operation and effectiveness of the Landscape South Australia Act 2019 (the Landscape Act).

An Independent Reviewer, will use your feedback to develop recommendations for consideration of the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water.

Background

We are undertaking a statutory review of the Landscape Act in accordance with section 249.

Section 249 of the Landscape Act states that the Minister must appoint an independent person with extensive knowledge, skills and experience in relation to the management of natural resources, to conduct a review of the operation and effectiveness of this Act.

The Minister has appointed Hon John Hill as an independent person to conduct this review.

The review commenced on 14 August 2023 and the public consultation phase will run until 23 of October 2023.

Mr Hill will provide a final report on his findings to the Minister within 6 months of the review commencing. The Minister will table a copy of the report in both Houses of Parliament within 12 sitting days of receiving it.

Any policy, process or legislative amendments resulting from the independent review findings will be managed as a separate project next year.
