When was the Mental Health Act 2009 proclaimed?
The Mental Health Act 2009 was proclaimed in July 2010, repealing the Mental Health Act 1993.
Why are we conducting this review?
Section 111 of the Mental Health Act requires that a report on the operation of the Act be tabled in Parliament within five years of commencement. A review of the Mental Health Act was tabled in Parliament in July 2014 with amendments resulting from the review commencing in June 2017.
