New cycling laws
Have your say on proposed new laws to help cyclists and motorists share the road safely.
New cycling laws are proposed in response to recommendations made by the Citizens' Jury on Sharing the Road Safely.
Recommendation 1 – One metre does matter
Develop legislation to define the overtaking space between a vehicle and a cyclist as a minimum of one metre.
Recommendation 4 – Cycling on footpaths
Change legislation to allow cycling for all ages on the footpaths.
