A not-for-profit, or NFP, organisation does not operate for the profit, personal gain, or other benefit of particular people. This includes two broad categories:

• Charities
•  Other types of Not-for-Profit organisations like community service organisations, professional and business associations, sporting and recreational clubs, and social societies.

Funding means any payments made by the government to an NFP organisation that relates to a contract, grant, or other agreement that funds that NFP organisation.
