Background

This online engagement was hosted on YourSAy from 18 December 2019 to 24 January 2020.

Our health care system is about people - those we serve every day, the many health care professionals who care for each person, and those that provide the services that support our clinical service delivery.

In early 2019, the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) identified the importance of developing a sustainable future-focussed strategic plan for our consumers, community, staff and key partners and stakeholder groups.

Over the past six months, staff, community members and organisations have been engaged in developing the strategic plan for NALHN.

The strategic plan sets a clear direction and priorities for the next five years for the NALHN to become a contemporary and sustainable health service for the north and north-eastern Adelaide region.

Six strategic imperatives are identified in the Strategic Plan, comprising:

  1. Inclusive Culture
  2. Service Design
  3. Digitally Smart
  4. Sustainability
  5. Exceptional People
  6. Partnering

The aim of these strategic imperatives is to:

  • Improve the overall health and wellbeing of our community
  • Develop and grow our staff
  • Strengthen and mature our research program and translate research into better care
  • Be more innovative and responsive
  • Be a high performing network

We recognise the importance of leading NALHN's communities, enabling, protecting, guiding and supporting them in their health and wellbeing.
