  • maintain, protect and enhance the public trust and confidence in the NFP sector
  • support and sustain a robust, vibrant, independent and innovative NFP sector

The Act will have impacts across South Australia for large and small charities and we need the help of the sector to further identify current issues, future challenges and creative solutions. Ensuring that the new ACNC legislation enables and improves our sector is critical to the future of not-for-profit organisations in South Australia.

On 25 January 2013 the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) released a consultation regulatory impact assessment (RIA) examining ways to reduce regulatory duplication between the proposed Commonwealth governance and reporting standards and existing State and Territory requirements. The focus of this consultation RIA is the extent of regulatory duplication for entities currently regulated by both the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and state/territory regulators.

The public is invited to make submissions on the RIA. The closing date for submissions is 21 February 2013.

The RIA is available under "Announcements" on the COAG website at: www.coag.gov.au

Commonwealth Treasury will be uploading the submissions as they come in to the COAG NRWG website at:
