An expert panel was appointed in early 2013 to provide recommendations for a new planning system to Government and Parliament. The panel has just released its second public report, Our Ideas for Reform.

This report puts forward 27 reform ideas for debate and discussion. These ideas have been gathered through a consultation process, details of which can be found on the ‘exploring and discussing’ stage of the panel’s work.

The Panel is now seeking submissions on Our Ideas for Reform. These submissions will help to inform and influence the final report, to be completed by December 2014.

Input on Our Ideas for Reform is welcome until 26 September 2014.

    On 12 December 2014, the Expert Panel on Planning Reform presented their final report, The Planning System We Want, to the Minister for Planning.

    This Final Report makes 22 reform recommendations. These recommendations are the culmination of nearly two years work which included working with specialist reference groups and intensive community and stakeholder engagement and consultation.
