Consultation has concluded. Below is a record of the engagement.

Have your say on the Adelaide Metro Diversity and Inclusion Framework and Targeted Action Plans.

What's being decided?

South Australia needs a diversity and inclusion framework for its public transport system to meet the needs of the diverse communities that the network services.

We have developed a draft Diversity and Inclusion Framework with targeted action plans that set out the initial actions we will take in improving public transport to make a more inclusive public transport system.

The draft framework and targeted action plans have been developed to address the barriers some people face when engaging with public transport.

The draft framework sets the intent and structure for how the targeted action plans will ensure that every person feels welcome and included on public transport and in built environments, and can easily access what they need to know, to get to where they want to go.

Background

The inaugural diversity and inclusion framework and targeted action plans have been developed as an identified need to be more inclusive of the diverse community that Adelaide Metro serves.

The framework and action plans have been informed by a mixture of contemporary research, qualitative and quantitative evidence and consultation with industry stakeholders and peak bodies.

The development of this framework and targeted action plans have been guided by consultation with internal stakeholders, community organisations, peak body representatives, and is now seeking the input from the broader community.

What are the next steps?

Your input during this consultation (Phase 4) will be considered when finalising the diversity and inclusion framework and action plans.

Once these plans have been implemented a network of stakeholders/community groups will be established to consult, co-design, and refine policies, practices and procedures within Adelaide Metro, this will also serve as a mechanism to identify barriers or concerns for using public transport.
