Outcome

A Consultation Report (PDF 1.2 MB) has been prepared following feedback provided throughout the public consultation process on proposed amendments to the Historic Shipwrecks (Miscellaneous) Amendment Bill 2016 (the Bill).

As a result of the feedback received, no additional amendments to the Bill were recommended. Feedback received was constructive, although some feedback was outside the scope of the proposed amendments on this occasion. The State Heritage Unit will consider these matters further for potential inclusion in any future Act amendments or as part of any administrative or operational changes that can be made without requiring legislative amendment.

The next step will be for the Bill to be introduced into Parliament.
