The Government has proposed the establishment of a Royal Commission that will inquire into the existing legislation, policies and structures of the State’s child protection system. It will consider the State’s child protection authorities and other government and non-government organisations charged with the care and protection of children.

Draft terms of reference for the Royal Commission are available for comment. Comments on the draft terms of reference are invited up until close of business Tuesday 12 August 2014.
