Community drop-in session – projects improving river health
The Department for Environment and Water is currently delivering numerous projects in and around Cobdogla to improve channel and floodplain health. We would like to invite the local community to come and learn more about these projects at a community drop-in session.
When: 19 February 2026, 4pm – 6pm
Where: Cobdogla Soldiers Memorial Institute, Corner of Shueard Street and McLeod Street., Cobdogla
Other DEW projects include:
- investigating improvements to the currently inoperable Loveday Basin northern regulator
- investigations and concept designs in the Loveday and Mussel Lagoon Basin Complex for channel clearing to improve hydrological connectivity and culvert modifications to provide more effective management of environmental water
- Loveday Basin acid sulphate soil investigations
- Watchels Lagoon channel clearing and culvert construction.
