What is being decided?

We are developing a South Australian Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Plan that will change the game for sport and recreation in our state.

The plan will identify the facilities we must build and upgrade, to support sporting participants from grassroots level to elite athletes. This plan will also provide for the needs of all community members who want to be physically active and keep fit through recreational activities.

Recreational facilities you may like to see improved or developed in your community could include trails and parks, and facilities like swimming pools, courts and playing fields. We are also seeking your comments about some of our bigger sporting infrastructure such as Adelaide SuperDrome, State Hockey Centre and the SA Athletics Stadium and our major venues such as Adelaide Oval and Coopers Stadium.

How can your input influence the decision?

Your input will help shape the sport and recreation facility development priorities in the South Australian Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Plan.

The Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR) is creating a new plan for infrastructure related to sport and recreation in South Australia.

The Plan will identify the infrastructure needed to support sports participation from the grass roots level through to our elite athletes. It will also identify infrastructure opportunities for community members that want to be active through recreational pursuits such as walking, and cycling.

Recreational facilities may include trails and parks and community infrastructure like swimming pools, courts and playing fields, through to bigger assets such as the Adelaide SuperDrome, State Hockey Centre and the SA Athletics Stadium and major sporting venues such as Adelaide Oval and Coopers Stadium.

This is your opportunity to tell the Government about your priorities and ideas on the future of sport and recreational facilities in South Australia.
