Consultation outcome

Consultation on the proposed suburb boundary realignment and new suburb name ‘Seacliff Heights’ closed on 18 June 2023. Thank you for your contributions.

During the consultation period, 79 responses were received. While there were marginally more responses in favour of realigning the suburb boundaries to establish a new suburb, there were a similar number of responses opposing the proposal.

Concerns were raised regarding the impact to existing residents, such as the costs associated with changing their address details, possible reductions in property values due to the new name, and some residents maintaining a strong long-term connection with their existing suburb name.

In response to this feedback, the Minister for Planning has not approved the proposed boundary realignment and new suburb name consulted on from 18 May 2023 to 18 June 2023.

Instead, the Minister has approved a boundary realignment consulted on in October 2022, to extend the existing suburb of Seacliff to include a smaller area encompassing the proposed ‘Seacliff Village’ development site.

A new suburb will not be created and no existing residents will be affected.

From 9 November 2023, the area shaded green on the map below will be included in the suburb of Seacliff.

Consultation has concluded. Thanks for your contributions.
