Smithfield Regeneration Code Amendment finalised
The Smithfield Code Amendment has now been finalised and adopted by the Minister for Planning.
A number of changes were made to the code amendment following consultation, including:
- applying a maximum building height of 15 storeys across the Renewal SA site and the ‘Urban Activity Centre Zone’, which includes the Munno Para Shopping Centre, Smithfield railway station and bus interchange, and other private and public properties
- applying a maximum building height of 9 levels across Lot 19 Morialta Drive
- applying a maximum building height of 6 levels across the existing residential areas to the north and south of the Renewal SA site
- removing the ‘Significant Retirement Facility and Supported Accommodation Sites Overlay’ from the Renewal SA site
- updates to the concept plan, such as adding a buffer along the railway line and a turning point on Main North Road, and removing the George McCullum Road/Main North Road intersection upgrade.
