Four Bills introduced into Parliament
In 2015, the South Australian Law Reform Institute (SALRI) was commissioned to review legislative or regulatory discrimination against LGBTIQ South Australians.
As a result of the recommendations by SALRI, four Bills were introduced into Parliament, that were designed to remove legal discrimination against LGBTIQ South Australians and make the statute books gender neutral. By the end of 2016, three of these Bills were passed into law, with one law still before Parliament and likely to be passed in early 2017.
