Background
Park management plans are strategic documents that set direction for the longer-term management of parks and are required for all parks under the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1972.
The Deep Creek National Park, Talisker Conservation Park and small parks of the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula Draft Management Plan aims to protect biodiversity, guide nature-based tourism experiences, support fire management and celebrate cultural heritage within these parks.
This plan is being developed in collaboration with regional park managers, the Ngarrindjeri Nation, key stakeholders, and technical specialists. It also considers park and heritage assessments, research, park survey data and trends, accessibility, and inclusion.
