A Place to Create
A 10-year cultural policy for all South Australians

Thank you for your interest and participation in Creating for the future – shaping South Australia’s new cultural policy and a vision for the arts, culture and creative sector.

During the statewide consultation process held between 7 December 2023 – 3 April 2024, over 2,000 stakeholders took part in the engagement: with 1,671 survey responses, more than 80 written submissions to the Discussion Paper, and over 250 workshop participants.

Through this process we heard that South Australians value the health, happiness and wellbeing outcomes of a culturally connected community, and that our community understands the transformative power of culture and creativity to build successful, healthy, happy and cohesive communities.

The new 10-year state cultural policy, A Place to Create is the synthesis of this extensive consultation. The key themes that emerged through the consultation process have led to the development of the strategies within the Policy, which aims to enrich South Australia's future through arts, culture and creativity.

The Policy and Delivery Plan 2025-2027 were released on 31 March 2025, and are now available to download in print and accessible formats in the Documents section on this page.
