SA public sector safety, wellbeing and injury management framework and WHS guideline
Consultation has concluded. Thanks for your contributions.
Help describe how safety, wellbeing and injury management work in the South Australian public sector!
What's being decided?
Following the release of the Safety Wellbeing and Injury Management (SWIM) strategy for the SA public sector (2023-2032) and Injury Management Standards, OCPSE is seeking your feedback on the SWIM Framework and Work, Health and Safety (WHS) Guideline.
The audience for these documents are SWIM professionals and their leaders who are responsible for SWIM practices or outcomes that will help agency programs be most efficient.
Feedback from our stakeholders will ensure these documents are comprehensive and support the sector to provide healthy and safe workplaces that optimise productive work.
Background
The SWIM framework describes the key elements of safety, wellbeing, and injury management across the South Australian public sector and how they fit together to ensure:
- effort is directed in the right places,
- our work conforms to relevant legislation and standards and,
- we improve SWIM outcomes across the sector.
The WHS guideline supports agencies to develop, implement and maintain safety management systems aligned to the International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety management systems (ISO 45001:20018) which are the WHS standard for the public sector.
The guideline consolidates systems and resources specific to the SA public sector that:
- impose requirements on the sector relevant to how the standard is met, or
- support agencies or workers to meet the requirements of the standard.
