Accessible and Inclusive Toolkits
Consultation has concluded
We would like your help to build a more inclusive South Australia for people living with a disability.
What's being decided?
We are developing 4 "how to" toolkits to support and promote accessible and inclusive practices for people living with disability.
The toolkits have been drafted and we want to ensure they reflect the needs of the community.
Your feedback will inform the final toolkits. You can help us identify gaps, recognise what is working well and highlight areas for improvement.
Background
As part of South Australia's first disability inclusion plan Inclusive SA 2019-2023, we are creating the toolkits as a resource for State Government agencies and local councils to support inclusive practices.
Inclusive SA outlines whole-of-government actions being taken across South Australia to improve access and inclusion for people living with disability.
The toolkits cover:
- Accessible Communication (online only)
- Accessible Events
- Accessible Signage, Wayfinding and Multimedia Devices
- Engagement and Consultation
Get involved
We would like to hear from the South Australian community, especially people with lived experience of disability, to ensure the toolkits reflect community needs.
You can help us in 2 ways:
- Review one or more of the 4 draft toolkits and provide your feedback as to what is working well and what could be improved.
- Share your lived experiences of disability with us. Tell us about any access and inclusion challenges you (or people you know) may have faced, and your ideas for making South Australia more accessible and inclusive.
To find out more:
- read the State Disability Inclusion Plan - Inclusive SA
- view the 4 toolkits in the documents section.
Have your say in a number of ways including:
- take our survey
- post a comment in our YourSAy guestbook to share your experiences and ideas for making South Australia more accessible and inclusive.
- email your feedback to dhsdisabilityinclusion@sa.gov.au
- post your written feedback to:

What are the next steps?
Your feedback is important to us.
We will consider your feedback to finalise the accessible and inclusive toolkits. We will share a summary of the feedback we receive on this site.
Once finalised, the toolkits will be available on the Inclusive SA website for everyone to access.
