Work health and safety affects us all and we want to ensure that the Act for work health and safety in South Australia is working well for you.

South Australia’s Work Health and Safety Act 2012 (and amended provisions) are now available to South Australian’s for review. South Australia’s work health and safety laws are based on the national model Act that was developed by Safe Work Australia in consultation with the commonwealth, states and territories.

South Australia’s work health and safety laws are based on the national model Act that was developed by Safe Work Australia in consultation with the commonwealth, states and territories.

Inspectors have a right of entry to South Australian workplaces. These visits are undertaken further to a SafeWork SA policy which is also available for your review. We welcome your comments on how effective this is and would like to hear your thoughts on any improvements.

    After receiving and compiling submissions the completed report for the review of the WHS Act will be presented to the Minister. The Act requires that the Minister provides the report to Parliament within six sitting days after receiving it.
