The Attorney-General’s Department (AGD) is seeking your comments on a draft Bill to amend the Community Titles Act 1996 and Strata Titles Act 1988 as well as on draft Community Titles (Resolutions) Amendment Regulations.

What's being decided?

We are seeking feedback on the proposed changes to the community and strata titles legislation in the draft Statutes Amendment (Community and Strata Titles) Bill 2022 and draft Community Titles (Resolutions) Amendment Regulations 2022 before introduction in Parliament in the case of the Bill, and gazettal in the case of the Regulations.

This consultation also provides an opportunity to incorporate any additional changes needed to the legislation before the Bill is introduced in Parliament.

Background

The draft Statutes Amendment (Community and Strata Titles) Bill 2022 (the draft Bill) implements recommendations from:

  • an inquiry into strata titles regulation by the Environment, Resources and Development Committee (ERD Committee) of the South Australian Parliament;
  • members of the public;
  • the Registrar-General and,
  • other interested parties.
