What is being decided?

We want our 2016 National Youth Week theme to highlight and celebrate South Australia's cultural diversity. South Australia is home to people from over 200 countries and we see cultural diversity wherever we go, from city to suburb to country town and beyond.

But have you ever thought about how different our local communities are, and what the unique cultural blend of your neighbourhood contributes to your enjoyment and appreciation of living there?

We want SA's National Youth Week theme to put the spotlight on cultural diversity in our local communities. We want our events in 2016 to bring people together to celebrate the unique cultural flavour of their local community, and of cultural diversity across South Australia.

How can your input influence the decision?

National Youth Week 2016 runs from 8-17 April, 2016.

National Youth Week is South Australia's biggest event for young people. We want as many young people as possible involved in creating it, right from the start, to make this an event to remember - with a huge variety of events, festivals, forums, workshops and exhibitions, where young people share their talents and ideas, have a say about things that are important to them and just have a good time. Help us decide what the theme should be.

The themes that you can vote for are:

  • More variety, better society
  • #cultureblend
  • My community is your community!
  • World at your door
  • Our Place: the world in our community

VOTE NOW

To be in the running for one of the prizes, we want to know what your suggestions and ideas for National Youth Week are. For example, maybe you think that a street parade would be the best way to showcase your favourite theme, or perhaps the opportunity to meet with a diverse range of cultural leaders would be a huge drawcard for National Youth Week. The sky's the limit.

SHARE YOUR IDEAS

You've got 2 weeks to vote in the poll and share your ideas - the closing date is Monday 9 November.

How will your input be used?

Your vote tells us what you are interested in and will set the scene for all of the National Youth Week events. We want our theme to capture your imagination and generate a fantastic variety of events and happenings.

The National Youth Week theme will be announced here on YourSAy and the Office for Youth website in November 2015.
