Consultation has concluded. Thanks for your contributions.

We want to hear your feedback on the Parks of the Central Fleurieu Peninsula Draft Management Plan.

What's being decided?

The Parks of the Central Fleurieu Peninsula Draft Management Plan has been developed to outline the objectives and strategies that will set the direction for the long-term management of Hindmarsh Valley National Park and Bullock Hill, Cox Scrub, Finniss, Gum Tree Gully, Hesperilla, Kyeema, Mount Billy, Mount Magnificent, Myponga, Nixon-Skinner, Scott, Spring Mount, Stipiturus, Yulte conservation parks.

Your feedback on the draft plan is important as it provides community input into the strategic management of the parks.

We will collate, analyse and use your feedback to develop the final plan which will be submitted to the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water for adoption.

Background

Park management plans are the primary public accountability document for each of South Australia’s parks. Management plans set strategic direction and explain how parks are managed.

DEW developed the Parks of the Central Fleurieu Peninsula Draft Management Plan following the proclamation of Hindmarsh Valley National Park in December 2021.

We developed the management direction, objectives, and strategies outlined in this plan with input from First Nations, key stakeholders, park managers and technical experts.

The parks in this plan have similar ecological and geographic features and are subject to the same range of issues. Establishing one management plan supports a consistent approach to biodiversity conservation and public visitation across these parks.

Once adopted, this plan will be the first adopted management plan for each of the parks except for Stipiturus Conservation Park, where it will replace the current plan.
