SA Housing Trust Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2026-2030
Consultation has concluded
How can SA Housing Trust better support people with disability in our homes, services and workplaces?
The SA Housing Trust is developing its Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026–2030. This plan will set out practical actions to:
- Remove barriers in housing and service delivery
- Improve accessibility of information and communication
- Improve our understanding of the needs and experiences of people with disability
- Create inclusive workplaces.
Who we are and why does this matter?
The SA Housing Trust works with government, industry, and community partners to help people on low incomes access a range of government-funded housing options and maintain successful tenancies. These options include social housing, Aboriginal housing, emergency and crisis accommodation, as well as private rental assistance through grants.
We develop and manage public housing, oversee tenancies, and maintain a large asset portfolio across the state. We also partner with community housing providers to expand social housing options.
The Trust is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment where our people and our customers feel valued, respected and can participate fully. Our new plan will build on our current DAIP 2020-2024, incorporate feedback from stakeholders and reflect the changing needs and expectations of the community.
Please note: The current DAIP (2020-2024) was published under the name SA Housing Authority. Following our name change to SA Housing Trust, this new plan reflects the updated name.
This work is part of South Australia’s broader commitment to disability inclusion and aligns with the State Disability Inclusion Plan and the State Autism Strategy Action Plan.
What are we doing?
- Building and upgrading housing and facilities using Universal Design principles.
- Expanding disability awareness and inclusion training for employees.
- Increasing employment opportunities through inclusive recruitment.
- Enhancing communication and digital systems for accessibility.
- Supporting employees with disabilities through practical resources.
