Thiele’s Sandbar redevelopment

Consultation has concluded. Thanks for your contributions.

How would you like Thiele’s Sandbar to be redeveloped when it becomes a National Park?

What's being decided?

Thiele’s Sandbar, near Loxton will soon become part of a National Park and we are keen to hear about how you would like to use the park, for example:

  • Would you like to camp there?
  • What park facilities or infrastructure would you like to see there?

We have developed a draft Concept Plan to assist with the initial consultation of the park development, layout and how to manage visitors to the area.

Background

Thiele’s Sandbar is on Crown Land, however, it will soon become part of a National Park which will require some changes to how people use the area.

We are keen to hear from visitors to the site on how they would like to use it in the future and the things that are important to them.

National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia are keen to create a park that protects the natural and cultural values of the site, while still allowing people to camp and enjoy the designated areas.
